Dice roller: roll dice online
Pick how many dice and how many sides, tap Roll, and see each face plus the total.
The dice are rolled in your browser.
How to use it
- Under Dice, choose how many to roll, from 1 to 10.
- Under Faces on each die, choose d4, d6, d8, d10, d12 or d20.
- Tap Roll and read each face; with more than one die, you also get the total.
- Up to 10 earlier rolls stay below; Clear rolls removes them from the list.
How it works
Each face comes from your browser's cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues), the same engine as the site's wheel. Every face is equally likely: 1 in 6 on a d6.
The generator gives 4,294,967,296 possible values. If they don't split evenly across the faces, the leftover ones are thrown out and drawn again. On a d6 that's only 4 values, so no face gets an edge.
Six-sided dice show pips; the others show the number. Rolls live on the page only: they aren't saved or sent to a server, and reloading clears them.
Example
It's game night and you left your dice bag at home. A player attacks, so you pick 1 die, choose d20 and tap Roll.
It lands on 17, a hit. For damage you switch to 2 dice and d6: you rolled 4 and 2, for a total of 6.
Frequently asked questions
How do I roll a dice online?
Leave it on 1 die with 6 sides and tap Roll: the face shows up right away. Switch to d4, d8, d10, d12 or d20 anytime.
Is this dice roller truly random?
Yes. Each face comes from your browser's cryptographic random generator, and every face is equally likely. On a d6, each number has a 1 in 6 chance, about 16.7%.
How many dice can I roll at once?
Up to 10, all with the same number of sides. With more than one die, you see each face and the total.
What does d20 mean?
It's a die with 20 sides: the number after the d is the side count. The d4, d6, d8, d10, d12 and d20 are the set used in role-playing games.
Can I roll a d20 and a d6 together?
Not in the same roll: every die in a roll has the same sides. Roll the d20, switch to d6 and roll again.
Are my rolls saved?
No. Up to 10 earlier rolls show below while the page is open, and reloading clears them. Nothing is sent to a server.
