Credits and Licenses
This page lists the open-source software that reaches your browser when you use Byterama. For each component you will find its license, its copyright notice and its version, where it states one.

In the image tools
The image tools use this compression library to create ZIP and PNG files:
- fflate 0.8.3, © 2026 Arjun Barrett. License: MIT. License text
In the HEIC to JPG tool
The HEIC to JPG tool loads a WebAssembly module built with libheif. It downloads only on that page, as separate files.
- libheif 1.23.7, © 2017-2020 Struktur AG, © 2017-2026 Dirk Farin. License: GNU LGPL, version 3 or later (LGPL-3.0-or-later). License text · Source code · How we build it and how to replace it
The Emscripten compiler puts its own code and parts of these libraries into that module:
- Emscripten 6.0.12, © 2010-2014 Emscripten authors. License: MIT or University of Illinois/NCSA, at your choice (MIT OR NCSA). License text
- musl, © 2005-2020 Rich Felker, et al. License: MIT. License text
- fdlibm, © 1993 Sun Microsystems, Inc. License: Sun Microsystems' fdlibm notice. License text
- libc++ (LLVM), © 2009-2019 the contributors listed in CREDITS.TXT, © 2009-2014 the contributors listed in CREDITS.TXT. License: Apache 2.0 with LLVM exceptions and, for its legacy code, MIT or University of Illinois/NCSA (Apache-2.0 WITH LLVM-exception AND (MIT OR NCSA)). License text
- Node.js, © Joyent, Inc. and other Node contributors. License: MIT. License text
libheif's license lets you modify it and use your version with the site's code that calls it. The build notes explain how, and our Terms of Use allow it.
In the JPG to WebP tool
In Safari and in the browsers on iPhone and iPad, which can't create WebP images, the JPG to WebP tool loads a WebAssembly module built with libwebp. It downloads only on that page and only in those browsers, as separate files.
- libwebp 1.6.0, © 2010, Google Inc. License: 3-clause BSD (BSD-3-Clause).
