Split PDF by page or range
Put every page in its own PDF, or pick ranges like 1-3 and 8-10. Nothing gets uploaded.
Your files never leave your device
Drop your PDF here
One PDF at a time, up to 100 MB and 500 pages.
How to use it
- Drop your PDF here or tap "Choose file".
- Pick "One PDF per page", or pick "By ranges" and type them, like 1-3, 5, 8-10.
- Check how many PDFs you'll get and tap "Split PDF".
- Download the PDF, or a ZIP with all of them if there are several.
How it works
Your browser opens the PDF with pdf.js, Mozilla's open-source PDF reader, the one Firefox uses. The split runs on pdf-lib, also open source, and both libraries are served by this site. Your file isn't uploaded, stored or logged anywhere.
Each new PDF holds only its own pages: the rest aren't hidden, they're left out of the file. It's named after the original plus its pages, like report-p3.pdf or report-p1-4.pdf.
Bookmarks don't carry over to the new files. If the PDF has a form, its fields look the same but can't be filled in anymore.
Example
You scanned your papers for an apartment application, and they all ended up in one 12-page file, scan.pdf. The landlord's portal wants your ID, pay stubs and bank statements as separate files.
You choose "By ranges" and type 1, 2-3, 4-12. You get a ZIP with scan-p1.pdf, scan-p2-3.pdf and scan-p4-12.pdf, one for each upload box.
Frequently asked questions
How do I separate the pages of a PDF?
Choose "One PDF per page" and tap "Split PDF". Each page becomes its own file, and they all come in one ZIP.
How do I extract just a few pages from a PDF?
Choose "By ranges" and type the pages you want, like 4-7. A single range gives you one PDF, with no ZIP.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. It's split in your browser, and the file isn't uploaded, stored or logged.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
No. A PDF with a password or locked editing is refused with a message, because the tool never removes protections. Remove them in the app that made it and try again.
Is there a file size or page limit?
Yes: up to 100 MB and 500 pages per PDF. If opening it takes over a minute, or splitting it over two, it stops and tells you.
Do I need to sign up or pay?
No. It's free, there's no account, and your files come out with no watermark.
