Sign PDF files in your browser
Draw your signature or type your name, then place it on your PDF. Free, with no upload.
Your files never leave your device
Drop your PDF here
One PDF at a time, up to 100 MB and 500 pages.
This is a drawn signature, an image placed on the page. It isn't a certificate-based digital signature.
How to use it
- Drop your PDF here or tap "Choose file".
- Draw your signature with a finger, mouse or stylus, or type your name.
- Pick the page, tap "Put the signature on this page" and drag it into place.
- Tap "Sign PDF" and download the signed file.
How it works
Your browser opens the PDF with pdf.js, Mozilla's open-source PDF reader, the one built into Firefox. Then pdf-lib, another open-source library, draws your signature on the pages you picked. The file is never uploaded, and the signature isn't saved anywhere, not even on your device.
The signature is drawn in dark ink as part of the page's content, not as a separate layer. A typed name is drawn in a handwriting font your device already has. Pages without it, bookmarks and form fields don't change, but a digital signature stops being valid.
PDFs with a password or editing restrictions are refused with a message, since this tool never removes them. So are damaged files. The limit is 100 MB and 500 pages per PDF.
Example
Your kid's school emails a field trip permission slip, a 2-page PDF. A parent has to sign page 2.
You open it here on your phone, sign with your finger and put the signature on page 2. You drag it onto the line, download permission-slip-signed.pdf and email it back.
Frequently asked questions
How do I sign a PDF on my phone?
Open the PDF here, draw your signature with your finger, put it on the page and drag it into place. It works in your phone's browser, with no app to install and no account.
Is my PDF or my signature uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is signed in your browser, and your signature isn't saved anywhere, not even on your device. The libraries that do the work, pdf.js and pdf-lib, load from this site.
Is this a digital signature?
No. It's a drawn signature: an image of your handwriting on the page, with no certificate behind it. If you're not sure what kind of signature you need, ask whoever sent you the document.
Can I sign more than one page?
Yes. Tap "Put the signature on this page" on each page that needs it, or "Put it on every page". Then you can move or remove it on each page separately.
Can I move or remove the signature later?
Not with this tool, because the signature becomes part of the page's content, not a separate layer. If you make a mistake, sign the original PDF again; it's still unchanged on your device.
Can I sign a password-protected PDF?
No. A PDF with a password or editing restrictions is refused with a message, because this tool never removes them. The same goes for a damaged PDF or one over 100 MB or 500 pages.
