How to use it
- Drag your PNG images into the box, or use the Choose images button to pick them from your computer or phone. They are converted to JPG as soon as you add them.
- If you need to, change the JPG quality or the background color for transparent areas, then use the Convert again button.
- Download each JPG on its own, or all of them in one ZIP file.
How it works
Your browser opens each PNG image, draws it on a canvas and saves it again as a JPG at the quality you chose. Everything happens on your device: the tool never sends your images to a server.
JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas of the PNG are filled with the background color you pick. White is the default; you can also choose black or any other color.
JPG is lossy: higher quality keeps more detail and makes larger files; lower quality makes smaller files but can show artifacts around edges and in gradients.
The JPG has the same pixel dimensions as the original PNG. It does not keep the PNG's metadata, such as camera details or GPS location, because it is saved as a new image. If the PNG is animated, only the first frame is converted.
Example
You have a white logo saved as a PNG with a transparent background, and you need it as a JPG. With the default white background, the logo would end up white on white and disappear.
Pick black, or your brand color with the Custom option, and convert it at quality 90: you get a JPG with the same pixel dimensions and the white logo on that color.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs inside your browser and your files never leave your device, so it is safe to use with screenshots and private images.
Does converting PNG to JPG lose quality?
Yes, some detail is lost, because JPG uses lossy compression and PNG does not. The higher the quality you choose, the more detail the JPG keeps. At low settings, artifacts can show up around text and other edges, and in gradients.
What happens to transparency when you convert PNG to JPG?
Transparent areas are filled with a solid color, because JPG does not support transparency. You can use the default white, or pick black or any other color. If you need to keep the transparency, use the original PNG.
What JPG quality should I use?
Start with the default, 90. If the JPG is too large, lower it and convert again; if you see artifacts around edges or in gradients, raise it. Each file in the list shows the PNG's size next to the JPG's, so you can compare them.
Can I convert several PNG images at once?
Yes. Drop or pick several PNG images, then download them one at a time or all together in a ZIP file. Each JPG keeps its PNG's file name, with a .jpg extension.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, in current versions of Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge, on desktop and on phones. Very large images can fail on a phone; if that happens, use a computer.
