Smaller fileHigher quality
How to use it
- Drop your WebP images here or tap "Choose images".
- Set the quality. Between 85 and 92% you will barely see a difference, and the file stays small.
- If your image has transparent areas, pick a background color. JPG can't store transparency.
- Download each JPG, or all of them in one ZIP.
How it works
Your browser opens the WebP image, draws it on a canvas and saves it again as a JPG. It all happens on your device, so the image never travels to a server, and private photos are safe to convert.
JPG uses lossy compression, so the quality setting trades sharpness for file size. Saving also drops hidden photo data such as GPS location and camera model.
Example
You saved a product photo from a website, and Word or your company's expense tool rejects it because it's a WebP. Drop it here, download the JPG and upload that instead.
Frequently asked questions
Does converting WebP to JPG lose quality?
A little, because JPG is lossy. At 85% quality or higher, most people can't see the difference.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs in your browser and the image stays on your device.
Why did my image get a white background?
JPG doesn't support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background color you choose. To keep transparency, convert to PNG instead.
What happens to an animated WebP?
Only the first frame is converted, because JPG can't store animation.
How many images can I convert at once?
There's no fixed limit. With many large photos, it depends on your device's memory.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, in any current browser: Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Edge.
