How to use it
- Drag your JPG, PNG or WebP images into the box, or use the Choose images button to pick them from your computer or phone.
- Rotate them 90° left or right, or flip them horizontally (a mirror image) or vertically. The same change applies to every image, and the thumbnails show how each one will look.
- If you need to, adjust the quality for JPG and WebP images. Then press the Apply button.
- Download each image on its own, or all of them in one ZIP file.
How it works
Your browser opens each image, draws it rotated or flipped on a canvas and saves it again in its own format: a JPG stays a JPG, a PNG stays a PNG and a WebP stays a WebP. Everything happens on your device: the tool never sends your images to a server.
PNG is lossless, so a rotated or flipped PNG keeps its full quality. A JPG or WebP, on the other hand, is compressed again at the quality you choose, which starts at 92. It loses some detail, but at a high quality the difference is hard to see.
Some photos store their orientation in their EXIF data: the tool first shows them upright based on that data, then applies your rotation. The new image doesn't carry the original's metadata, such as camera details or GPS location. If the original is animated, only its first frame is kept.
Example
You took a photo of a receipt lying on a table, and it came out sideways: receipt.jpg is 4000 × 3000 pixels and you have to tilt your head to read it. Press Rotate right 90°, check the thumbnail to make sure the text is upright, and press Apply. You get receipt-rotated.jpg at 3000 × 4000 pixels: the width and height trade places.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs inside your browser and your files never leave your device, so the tool is safe to use with private photos.
What is the difference between rotating and flipping an image?
Rotating turns the image around its center; flipping mirrors it. Rotate it 90° clockwise and what was at the top ends up on the right. Flip it horizontally and left and right swap places; flip it vertically and top and bottom swap.
How do I mirror an image?
Add it, press Flip horizontal, then press Apply. The image is reversed left to right, the way you would see it in a mirror, so any text reads backwards. If a selfie came out mirrored, flipping it horizontally shows you the way other people see you.
How do I fix a sideways photo?
Add it and press Rotate left 90° or Rotate right 90° until the thumbnail looks upright, then press Apply. If the photo looked sideways because of its EXIF orientation, it already shows upright here: the tool turns it upright first, then applies your rotation. The new photo is saved with the orientation you see in the thumbnail.
Does rotating a JPG lose quality?
Yes, but at a high quality the difference is hard to see. The JPG is compressed again at the quality you choose, which starts at 92, so it loses some detail. WebP works the same way, while a PNG keeps its full quality because PNG is lossless.
Can I rotate several images at once?
Yes. Drop or pick several images and press Apply: the same rotation or flip goes to all of them. Then download them one at a time or all together in a ZIP file. If they need different rotations, do them in batches: download each batch and remove it from the list before you add the next.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, in current versions of Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge, on desktop and on phones. Safari can't create WebP images, though, so to rotate or flip a WebP, use Chrome, Edge or Firefox on a computer or an Android phone. If a very large image fails on a phone, try a computer.
