Countdown to any date
Pick a day, give it a title and share a link that counts down the days and seconds.
Your countdown lives in the link, not on a server.
Opening the countdown…
How to use it
- Pick the date: today or any day in the next 100 years.
- Add a title of up to 40 characters if you like, such as "Trip to Denver".
- Tap "Create link", then "Copy link".
- Send the link: whoever opens it sees the countdown on their own device's clock.
How it works
The date and the title go in the link, after the #. Browsers never send that part to our servers, so your countdown isn't saved there. It stays in the link, wherever you share it, and in the browser history of whoever opens it.
Opening the link shows the calendar days left. Below, a clock shows the exact time until 12:00 a.m. on that day. It uses the time zone of whoever opens the link.
The title shows as plain text, never as a link. If a link arrives incomplete or damaged, the page says so and lets you make a new one.
Example
Today is March 1 and your trip to Denver is on the 15th. You pick March 15 and type "Trip to Denver".
Whoever opens the link sees "14 days to go" and a clock counting to 12:00 a.m. on the 15th. On the day of the trip it says "It's today".
Frequently asked questions
How do I make a countdown to a date?
Pick the date, add a title if you like and tap "Create link". Opening that link shows the countdown, with the days and a clock.
Can I share the countdown?
Yes. Copy the link and send it by text or in any chat. Everyone sees it on their own device's clock.
Is my countdown saved on a server?
No. The date and the title go in the link, after the #, and that part never reaches our servers. The link does stay wherever you share it and in the browser history of whoever opens it. If you lose it, make a new one.
What happens when the date arrives?
That day the page says "It's today". After that it says how many days have passed, such as "3 days ago".
How far ahead can I count?
From today up to 100 years later. The title can have up to 40 characters.
Can I pick a time as well as a day?
No. The countdown reaches zero at 12:00 a.m. on the day you chose. It uses the time zone of whoever opens the link.
